Casbah, the Mediterranean-themed terrace restobar of The Westin Mindspace Hyderabad, recently hosted a takeover by Bangkok’s iconic speakeasy bar Find The Locker Room @findthelockerroom.bkk and it turned out to be quite a remarkable evening. First, the well-crafted cocktails by the warm and amiable Thai duo, Ping and Thanachot. My favorite one was Flower Power, gin with Roselle chamomile syrup, lemon juice and Lotus, which was a Chivas Regal 12 yo mixed with lotus water , honey vinegar and soda water. The Fig’s You was also a whisky based cocktail (chivas regal which was perhaps a highlight sponsor that evening ) Vermouth, angostura bitters. Casbah’s Mezze platter is still impeccable (a decade after launch) and so was the Turkish pizza or pide. Other dishes ordered included some Indian styled chicken tikka and Creamy Mushroom with garlic bread.
