
If you think Madurai, by virtue of being home to the famed Meenakshi temple, is only known for its vegetarian cuisine, think again. And if you really want to get close up and personal with the unique cuisine of this temple town, visit Mazzo, the rooftop poolside restobar of @marriottexecutiveapartmentshyd which is hosting a Flavours of Madurai pop up currently until May 16th. What’s more, chef Suresh @naan_sureshrajan who’s helming the pop up at Mazzo is originally from Madurai. So expect only the real stuff, be it the absolutely brilliant Mutton Chukka or the Meen Kolambu paired with some delicious Coconut rice. The vegetarian offerings were as fabulous if not more, especially the Soya Urundai which we non vegetarians mistook for mutton urundai but with this soya version you could hardly know the difference? Loved the spicy, robust flavours of pepper, chillies, freshly ground spices. And how could one not try the OG dessert Jigarthanda? Icecream, nannari syrup , etc made every sip of this drink decadently addictive. Book your tables, grab a drink & see the world go by while you are in this poolside, tree-lined oasis and yeah, thank me later! #hyderabadfood
