Cake mixing invites have been flowing in, fast and furious, in keeping with the festive season. But somehow this fruit-mixing do @itckakatiya happened to be my first (by choice) and my choice was validated, with utterly delightful results. To begin with, the choice of venue, the tres charming and elegant open banquet space Hina Mahal which happens to be ITC Kakatiya’s best kept secret, as it was so far not functional because of security reasons. Not any longer. So the management at @itckakatiya headed by the new young GM Abhishekh Menon , (who served a stint earlier at Kakatiya) decided on this venue to kickstart festive celebrations. Second, this fruit mixing was done differently as promised by master of ceremonies Arnold (Anglo Indian from Goa who knows a thing or two about cake mixing traditions) and he made us “Mix, Mingle and Prance” by turns, and jumbling them up too, making for a lot of bon homie and us all very jolly at the end of it 😅 The mulled wine was perfect (both temperature and spice mix) and in cocktails (Love Potion was exquisite! The high tea was about a lot of cakes of the classic English Christmas kind, exotic names like Mandarin Orange, Lavender citrus shortcake, Chocolate dipped strawberries, and savouries galore like salmon mousse tarts, chicken sandwiches etc. To conclude, a fantastic evening!
