Dinner at The Asian Table by Welcomhotel ITC Dehradun felt less like a buffet and more like a gastroflight across Asia. The setting was elegant, the spread was generous, and the experience had that refined warmth I always look for in a memorable meal, thanks to @chefdpujari85 @gurudeepsinghchef and dearest @sanadkanaujia ❤️ I began with the sushi platter and sashimi, clean, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The rice was well-seasoned, the seafood tasted crisp and delicate, and every bite had that refreshing, umami-rich finish. Tropical vibes but fine dine! The lamb cumin cup was an instant favourite. Tenderised lamb tucked into a punchy, spice-kissed cup with the earthy warmth of cumin shining through. Comforting, bold, and addictive to keep wanting for more. The Cantonese-style haam daan eggs brought a savoury, salted richness that felt both familiar and unique, while the exotic veg in mala sauce delivered the perfect fiery kick, bold spices and sauces, and just enough heat to woo the palate. The Cantonese wrapped vegetables were light, clean, and beautifully structured, letting the freshness of the vegetables hold its own. What a culinary game! Then came the crispy corn cup, golden, crunchy, and pure snacking joy. The dandan noodles were silky, nutty, spicy, and deeply satisfying. Som Tom added a bright, zesty, Thai-style contrast that cut through the heavier flavours, and the Sichuan tart closed the meal with a striking balance of spice and tang. What I loved most was how the buffet had every element of zodiac, be it fire, air, water which is so comforting and adventurous, both.
