Gurugram's Newest Treasure: Sipping Style at The Vault There are venues, and then there are destinations. 32nd Avenue in Gurugram has, over the last few years, established itself as a beacon of curated taste—a place where food, fashion, and lifestyle converge, hopefully without becoming a tedious, over-designed mess. The trick, as any seasoned observer of India's evolving hospitality scene will tell you, is in the edit. Not just what you put in, but what you emphatically leave out. My recent excursion took me to The Vault, a space that understands this principle intimately. Tucked away on the Lower Ground floor—conveniently, or perhaps strategically, located below a ubiquitous Starbucks—it’s an address that promises more than just a momentary distraction. It promises a discovery. The Maze and The Martini The evening's main draw was the intimate preview of POURFOLIO, their new cocktail menu. But before the first elegant sip, we were treated to a necessary preamble: a walkthrough of The Vault's interior landscape. And it is, indeed, a maze. Not in the frustrating, I-can’t-find-the-exit sense, but in the delightful, every-turn-reveals-a-treasure way. It’s a carefully curated emporium where you find a seamless (and often surprising) blend of fashion, jewellery, home, and lifestyle brands. It doesn't feel like a mall; it feels like the extraordinarily tasteful, if slightly eccentric, drawing room of a person who has genuinely seen the world. This is the new retail aesthetic: a theatre of objects, not just a shelf. Then came the main event. POURFOLIO is, quite simply, an homage to the classics, but executed with the confident, modern hand that one expects from an establishment of this caliber. They haven't tried to reinvent the wheel with ingredients one can neither pronounce nor acquire; they’ve simply perfected the machine. A Portfolio of Pour The test of any serious bar lies in its ability to nail a simple, elegant drink. My first indulgence was the Golden Glow Martini, their take on the quintessential Dry Martini. The name promises festive cheer, but the drink delivers something more substantive.
