Standing in a place so divine, so breathtaking… I couldn’t help but feel a wave of guilt for being here without the two souls who made it all possible. I made multiple calls to my mom to show the place so divine, to include her in all the joy I felt, to help her see what I can experience, for her to live vicariously through me. We all may have had certain deterrents including finances, time crunch, schedule mismatch or a ridge that develops between us as we move forward in life. But for me, our parents have worked tirelessly, sacrificed endlessly, and dreamt of moments like these, not for themselves, but for us. And I know their deep longing for experiences like these. And now, as I stand amidst beauty and peace, I carry their blessings in my heart but also a longing, wishing they could see this through their own eyes. One day, I’ll bring them here.
