The Patch must surely be one of the best-kept secrets of Novotel Hyderabad Airport as I discovered on a staycation recently. The Patch, which is tucked away in a corner right at the entrance of the sprawling property, is an organic verdant green and clean space which boasts of produce ranging from passion fruit, mulberry, aloe vera and lettuce to eggplant, amaranthus and okra. Executive chef of @novotelhydairport Amanna Raju was kind enough to walk me through the Patch where I met Mohan Reddy Garu, with the green fingers, who happens to be the former owner of the land, and while being happily compensated for the same, gets to work here and stay close to the earth which he was earlier part of. The passion fruit plucking was the highlight of my tour as well as a ramble through the mulberry trees (not bushes, like the nursery rhyme goes) where we found a young mum with her two young kids getting acquainted with the outdoors. May more hotels have green lungs, so essential in today’s polluted world. There are many reasons why one should plan a staycation at Novotel Airport Hyderabad and the Patch is one of them, contributing to the unique resort/getaway vibes of this property.
