Art is liberating. As cliched as it sounds, that was my exact sentiment as I spent an eminently enjoyable evening @queensandbeanshyderabad browsing through the art works of self-taught Bengaluru based artist Priyanka Chandra @mementomori_in . Formerly a HR manager with the fashion brand Zara, Priyanka found her true calling during Covid, when she put her thoughts and ideas down on canvas and acrylic. Resilience , Prithvi & Jal (as part of the five elements of nature), were a few of the titles of her work. She was part of the all-women art biennale in London recently. She finds her true inspiration from Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh and recounted to us her goosebumps-inspiring anecdote of having visited Van Gogh’s cemetery and finding a paint brush & easel placed there without a soul in sight, a sign from the Universe and its masters so to speak. The vivacious artist will be displaying her art at the alll-women’s cafe Queens & Beans over the weekend and perhaps beyond. The coffees and butter/jeera cookies baked fresh are added attractions, there is a huge menu too ! Bring yourself down to Queens & Beans, besides the positive vibes, lovely green terrace top ambience and wonderful coffees curated by master barista Sangya Yadav @allthings.sy they have an interesting mix of creative events (art, music and poetry among others) lined up. Go over to meet your friends/colleagues/family over some coffee and delicious bites, big and small ! 🤗
