🔴𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥🔴 Are you a great listener? It’s not about you - it’s about how the 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 after they've spoken. “The real test of being a good listener is that the other person feels heard.” In leadership, in coaching, in everyday relationships — 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 is not a passive skill. It’s an 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴. And the true outcome of that investment isn’t what you take away from the conversation… it’s what they walk away with: ➡️ Do they 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 safe? ➡️ Do they 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 seen? ➡️ Do they 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 understood? ➡️ Do they 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 valued? Because people don’t just want to speak — they want to be 𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗱. And yet, how often do we: ✅ Interrupt with our version of events? ✅ Offer solutions before truly understanding the problem? ✅ Nod along while mentally preparing our response? 👉 Real listening is presence 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 pressure. 👉 Real listening is curiosity 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 control. 👉 Real listening is letting someone feel they matter — not because you said it, but because they felt it.
