I have been living in the UK for almost 5 years now and 1. I am not ashamed to admit I still convert pounds to rupees before buying anything expensive. 2. I am not ashamed to admit I genuinely love the independence and lifestyle the UK gives me. It has helped me learn a lot about myself. 3. l am not ashamed to admit that somedays I just need to eat spicy food (spices as well as heat). 4. I am not ashamed to admit that my accent changes depending on who I’m speaking to. It’s not intentional, it just happens. 5. I am not ashamed to admit the UK weather still confuses me (and I hate it from the bottom of my heart), I complain like a true local now. 6. l am not ashamed to admit that many days can be very lonely in the UK. 7. I am not ashamed to admit that some things here just feel easier like public transport, safety, the systems. It really does make life smoother. 8. I am not ashamed to admit that India will always be home but the UK has given me a chance to look inwards and understand myself.
