LEGEND OF KHIRA MOHANA aka RASAGOLA: Today is the last ritual of this auspicious Ratha yatra called as Niladri bije i.e Niladri means Lord Jagannath & Bije means to enter. Finally this 10 days big festival is coming to an end where all 3 deities will enter the main temple followed by some interesting rituals and invention of a sweet called KHIRA MOHANA i.e Rasagola. These are century's old traditions and followed in the same way even today. The final ritual continues with a fight between Lord Jagannath and Goddess laxmi since he didn't take her along with him rather took his siblings. Both Balabhadra and Subhadra are allowed to enter but the main gate is closed for Jagannath. So he tries to appease his angry wife with KHIRA MOHANA, which later evolved into the RASAGOLA and pata saree. This day is now celebrated as RASAGOLA DIBASA. This sweet is made from soft country cheese(cheena), semolina, little cardamom and cooked in a thin sugar syrup. This is my 3rd attempt to make super soft cheese ball dumplings dipped in jaggery syrup. I have a funny story to share, I used to call my Mother's maternal Uncle as Rasagola Aja (maternal grandfather) since he used to get rasagola every time he visited and called him the same till date. Different types of rasagola exist in Odisha itself depending on their location, flavors and stories namely Pahala and Salepur rasagola. PS: I like Rosogolla 😉😋but I love Rasagola 😍❤ 🌸🙏JAI JAGANNATH 🙏🌸 #khiramohana #Rasagola #RasagolaDibasa2025 #rasagoladibasa #sweetsofodisha #sweetsofindia #niladribije #odishatourismofficial #templefood #templecuisine #templesweet #odiacuisine #odishaheritage #foodvideo #foodstories #odishaculture #proudodia #rathayatra2025 #jaijagannath #pictureoftheday #trendingfood #sweetoftheday #incredibleindiaofficial #ndtvfood #timesfood #storyteller #sweettooth #food52grams #bhukadinsantales #homemadesweets
