▪︎9th month of Odia Hindu calendar is Margashirsha Month(Nov-Dec). Every Thursday of this month in Odisha, Laxmi puja is done and partial fasting is observed by married women's. Goddess Laxmi is known for wealth, prosperity and good fortune. ▪︎Today is the 1st Thursday of Margashirsha which is treated as "Anagi Pali Gurubara" where "Nagi" i.e prasad, making "Jhoti-Chitta" & few other rituals is not offered to Goddess Laxmi. ▪︎But for me this is a month of Pitha's and different other delicacies that are being prepared as prasad for offering. Looking forward to the last Thursday which is a grand affair. ▪︎Unlike other Mothers my Mama (Mother) doesn't know making many Pithas(Traditional delicacy). She makes only "Chana/Bhaja Manda & Kakera ( Sweet dumplings with & without stuffing)".
