Fat Lulu's: Where Gurugram Gets Its Groove Back You know a restaurant has got it right when the name itself makes you smile. Fat Lulu's—who is Lulu, and why is she fat? Does it matter? Not really, because from the moment you walk into this Worldmark establishment, you realize that whoever Lulu is, she knows how to throw a party. First, The Important Stuff Let's talk about drinks, because any restaurant worth its salt understands that a meal begins long before the food arrives. The Rose Wine & Strawberry Sangria hit the table like a promise kept—fresh strawberries swimming in properly chilled rose, sweet but not saccharine, fruity without crossing into fruit punch territory. The Watermelon and Berry Sangria with white wine was its equally accomplished sibling, lighter perhaps, but no less satisfying on a warm Gurugram evening. The mocktail menu suggested someone in the kitchen actually drinks these things themselves. The Ocean Blue—that joyously artificial-looking combination of blue curacao, fresh orange, lime, and soda—was unabashedly fun. But it was the Italian Smooch that made me sit up. Fresh mint, peach, ginger, and passion fruit sounds like a committee decision, yet it worked with surprising elegance. The Spicy Mango Mint Mojito, complete with jalapeño and a masala rim, was the kind of creative risk that pays dividends. And then there was the Cranberry & Peach Lemonade—simple, honest, and exactly what you want when you're not trying to make a statement but just want something cold and delicious. The Pizza Question Here's the thing about the Soho pizza: it's completely over the top, and it knows it. Spicy pepperoni, Parma ham, crumbled lamb, pork chorizo, sausage, and nduja—this is a pizza that subscribes to the "more is more" philosophy of life. The base was thin enough to stay crisp under the weight of all that protein, the crust had the requisite char, and the nduja brought that lovely, spicy fat that tied everything together. Would a purist approve? Probably not. Did I enjoy every excessive bite? Absolutely.
