If you think this is just a cute video, let me tell you why it is much more than that. Watch what Aish does here. She names the scarf. She explains the game. She says “you’re doing great” to a six month old who cannot understand a single word yet. Except his brain can. And it is. This is parentese in its purest form. Warm tone, real words, real sentences, genuine excitement. Not taught. Not rehearsed. Just a six year old loving her brother the way she knows how. And in doing that, she is building his language, his sense of safety, and their bond all at once. Every time she does something and waits for him to respond, that is serve and return. One of the most powerful things a brain needs in the first year of life. She does not know that. She is just playing. That is exactly the point. As their mama, watching this was a reminder. Not a cute one. A real one. That my baby’s brain is working right now, building language from every interaction around him. And that the best thing I can do is make sure those interactions are rich, warm, and full of real words. Talk to your baby. Full sentences. Real words. And if you have an older child at home, let them in. Sibling interaction is one of the most underrated drivers of early language development. Your baby is not too young for any of this. That is the whole point. . . . . . #languagedevelopment #speechdevelopment #montessorifrombirth #montessoriathome
