One of the most extraordinary experiences I had during my trip in Armenia, was during a visit to the former residence of Lusik Aguletsi - now transformed into a resplendent museum. 👉🏻 The encounter was further elevated by my meeting with her daughter, Astghik Samvelyan. This immersive experience is exactly why I wholeheartedly recommend this cultural gem to anyone visiting Yerevan. 👉🏻 Lusik Aguletsi, often called the “Van Gogh of Armenia,” continues to echo through the walls of her family home, now a museum. Lusik’s presence is palpable in the handcrafted traditional Armenian garments she once wore so proudly. 👉🏻 But Lusik’s artistry wasn’t just confined to textiles. Her creativity spilled into every part of her life—belts, jewellery, furniture, dolls and even home décor, all transformed under her touch. 👉🏻 A recreated Armenian kitchen invites you to explore the flavours of this land, with dishes like Topik and Vornamen—unique to Lusik’s home and now shared with the world. The museum, a reflection of Lusik Aguletsi’s world, also bears the mark of her husband, Yuri Sambalyan. Her children, Astghik and Armen, and even her young grandchildren carry forward the family’s creative flame.
