The Andalucian wind whipped through my hair as our horse carriage clattered down a dusty path. We were exploring the organic farms of Finca Kukutana, a remote and rustic countryside house nestled within the vast expanse of Doñana National Park. 👉🏻 Once a playground for wealthy 13th-century aristocrats, the national park is now a haven for wildlife – boars, foxes, and deer roaming freely amongst the sprawling olive and orange groves. The most remarkable comeback story belongs to the Iberian lynx, its population rising tenfold thanks to a dedicated conservation effort. 👉🏻 The Finca itself felt like stepping back in time. Built in 1919, this beautiful six-bedroom house exudes a timeless charm. Burgundy tiled floors led to a spiralling wooden staircase, and the scent of a delicious meal hung heavy in the air. 👉🏻 Cheese from Castiblanco, chilled beetroot gazpacho, Iberian ham from Alanis, homemade ice cream with strawberries, duck with rice and meringue millefeuilles from Benacazon – the spread promised a true taste of Andalusia, perfectly complemented by a glass of Zancuo Roble Espanol from La Margarita wineries. This beautiful house, available only for exclusive hire, is a blend of rustic charm and evolving luxury. The family makes for great hosts, ensuring a memorable stay.
