The frenetic pace of travel often leaves you breathless, chasing from landmark to landmark. But Marbella felt like stepping into a dream. It was as if I’d wandered into a postcard, every corner picture-perfect. 👉🏻 Puerto Banus and Deportivo, the famed marina, stretched out before me, a dazzling display of luxury yachts bobbing beside sleek restaurants. Yet, just a stone’s throw away, charming old town streets unfolded, their whitewashed houses adorned with colourful flowers. 👉🏻 The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación church, bathed in the warm Spanish sun, held my gaze with its timeless beauty. Its weathered stone whispering stories of bygone eras are a stark contrast to the contemporary pulse of the upscale shopping centres nearby. 👉🏻 But Marbella wasn’t all glitz and glamour. Seeking a taste of tranquillity, I ventured into the historic Parque de la Alameda. The insistent thrum of my internal itinerary quieted, replaced by the gentle murmur of the water cascading from the 18th-century fountain. Sunlight dappled through the lush canopy of trees, casting dancing patterns on the winding paths. 👉🏻 The air was thick with the scent of orange blossoms, a fragrant balm that soothed my travel anxieties. Suddenly, the urgency to tick off the boxes on my list vanished. Instead, I found myself captivated by the slow, deliberate dance of a ladybug on a nearby flower petal. The park, with its timeless beauty, had granted me a precious gift – the space to simply be.
