Theta Theta Telugu is the new kid in town, a restaurant with a very bright future in my opinion. A collaboration between Spicy Venue whose legacy needs no introduction, and Chef Vignesh Ramachandran, a chef I hold in high esteem, Theta Theta Telugu is not meant to be “just another” Telugu restaurant. It is traditional, yet contemporary, and a lot of thought has gone into it. The ambience has it all, warm wood, soft lighting, familiar aromas reimagined. Muddapappu Hummus was a modern play to tradition, bringing Telangana to Levant. Chintapandu Ghee Prawns with Brioche turned out to be an unlikely love story of tang and texture. the Grilled Ghee Upma with Tomato Peanut Chutney were nostalgia turned modern. The Mutton Chops and Seena Roast quietly stole the show, the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-conversation just to taste it again. Naatu Kodi Pulusu, bubbling away in its hot pot worked wonders with Guntur Ghee Parota, and the Mutton Dum Pulao that followed, only deepened the experience. Dessert felt like an encore, Kobbari Rasmalai wrapped up the meal on a perfect note. One place I wholeheartedly recommend.
