Indian officials have affirmed that the country will continue buying Russian oil, brushing aside potential American tariffs. “India’s energy needs come first, and we will continue sourcing from wherever it makes economic sense,” a senior government source stated, stressing India’s strategic autonomy in foreign policy and trade decisions. Despite repeated signals from Washington, New Delhi has shown little interest in changing course. India has been buying Russian oil without giving any flying Fs to America, taking advantage of discounted supplies that have helped stabilize domestic fuel prices and support economic growth even amid global geopolitical tensions. Officials also noted that diversified import strategies remain a priority, making it clear that external pressure will not dictate India’s energy security choices. This stance is expected to keep bilateral trade with Russia strong in the coming months. @thetrid.ent
