In a significant security operation, Bihar Police arrested five men in connection with an alleged plot to a*sassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The arrests, primarily from Buxar district with additional detentions in Patna, followed a raid based on intelligence inputs. The main accused, identified as Aman Tiwari, reportedly contacted foreign intelligence agencies, including those linked to the USA, seeking substantial funding in exchange for sensitive information from the Prime Minister’s Office and proposing a timeline of around 22 days to execute the plan. Authorities seized electronic devices, including a laptop, during the operation and are investigating possible wider networks and leaked confidential data. Interrogation revealed that the suspects had attempted to reach out to overseas contacts for financial support to carry out the conspiracy, raising concerns over potential foreign involvement. Police have described the plot as targeting Modi during his public engagements, though initial assessments suggest the threat may have been in early stages. The case has been handed over for further probe to determine the full extent of the conspiracy and any international linkages. This incident adds to a series of reported threats against the Prime Minister over the years. At least four to five major alleged a*sassination plots or attempts on Modi have surfaced since his time as Gujarat Chief Minister, including the 2004 Ishrat Jahan case, the 2013 Patna rally blasts, and claims linked to Maoist or terr*r modules in subsequent years. Security agencies continue to treat such threats with utmost seriousness, enhancing protective measures around the leader. @thetrid.ent
