We mightn't always end up marrying our soulmates though, for a number of reasons; maybe we haven't met them yet, maybe they live on the other side of the world, maybe they're already married. But, what if you could for sure know who your other half is? What if you could find your soulmate by simply sending in a dna sample? The One by John Marrs tells the story of five such people who using "Match Your DNA" attempt to find their soulmates and the life changing events that unfold after. . This is a thriller like no other thriller I've read before, probably the craziest one I've read yet. Told in multiple povs and short chapters, this book had me hooked right from the first page. The author effortlessly pulls you in and with each turning page the reader is left gasping and wanting for even more. Normally with thrillers there are two or three twists, if that, but this book gives you jaw dropping moments like no other you've seen before. Even with the shifting povs the author keeps you engaged and suspense factor intact. He plays with your mind giving you a narrative about a character getting you to believe it and then slowly unravels the truth. This book is consistently brilliant and you're just as amazed by it at chapter 80 as you were at chapter 20. I went into it knowing the minimum and I think that's the way you should too. I have previously read Passengers by the author and loved that too but I think this one definitely tops that. This book has also placed itself as one of my favourite books of 2020, and probably on my all time favourites list too.
