
When one thinks of South india food, the humble idli is the first dish comes to mind. Idli are a types of savoury rice cake. A popular and soft idli variation from the Karnataka or tamil cuisine is made from rice and black lentils(urad dal ). This idly variation is widely appreciated breakfast recipe, special in banglore and mysore region. It is typically served with idly sambar and choice of chutney.... Ingredients- Rice - 3 cup Urad dal - 1 Cup Methi seeds (Fenugreek) 1/2 tsp Poha - 1/2 cup Instructions- Wash and soak rice and urad dal for 6 hour add methi seeds and poha while soaking. After six hours grind the rice, dal, methi seeds and poha make a smooth paste. Mix everything together and keep aside for minimum 8 hours or overnight. After 8 hour the mixture is fermented.
