Feeling touristy in your hometown feels magical in itself! Mom took me to @vmhkolkata after a gazillion years and the feeling exactly how I embraced it as a child.  For me historical monuments are not just about the eclectic light and sound show or the architectural beauty of the Renaissance era but, it is an example of how an architectural structure can attract people from across the globe no matter what the culture, religion, caste, creed, gender norms, all the preconceived notions and barriers that the society has set. It feels ecstatic to see hounds of people from different countries pose and click around the world's largest monument dedicated for a monarch. That's exactly what these cultural landmarks believe in. Unity in diversity. The light and sound show is one of the best that I've seen so far, after Golconda fort in 2010 which was exceptional.
