Let me tell you what I see with almost every new parent who comes to me completely exhausted: They’re jumping up at every single sound their baby makes. And honestly? Most of those sounds don’t actually need a response. Here’s the truth: Babies are loud sleepers. They grunt. They squirm. They whimper. They make all kinds of noises while they’re sleeping - and they’re not even awake. Every 45-60 minutes, your baby moves from deep sleep to light sleep. During that transition, they make noise. It’s completely normal. But when you rush in immediately, you actually wake them up when they would’ve settled back down on their own. Here’s what I do : Wait 30-60 seconds. Just pause and watch. I check : Are their eyes closed? Are they making occasional sounds or constant crying? Is it getting louder or staying the same? Real crying gets louder, more intense, and doesn’t stop. Normal sleep sounds are quiet, come and go, and usually stop on their own. When you learn this difference, everything changes. Your baby sleeps better. YOU sleep better. And you stop second-guessing yourself at 3am. This is just ONE of the things most parents don’t know - but wish they’d learned earlier. Comment ‘PREPARE’ to learn everything your baby needs in the first 100 days in my 3-hour program and become a confident, prepared parent.
