This Diwali, we continue the cherished traditions we started when our daughter was born - with our newborn :) 1. Every Dhanteras, we request our Little Lakshmi to dip her feet in haldi and take her footprints on a cloth. We place it in our safe, where it stays forever. Aish came into our lives and filled it with abundance; she’s our true wealth and, for us, she’s Lakshmi. We’ve been using the same cloth, but this year, we are using a fresh one for both babies. I never discard the old cloth as it holds her tiny footprints, which I cherish deeply. 💛 2. On Roop Chaudas, we make a homemade ubtan for face and body and light a diya at shower time in the washroom. Here’s the recipe for a natural glow: * Gram flour (besan): 2 tbsp * Turmeric: 1/2 tsp * Rosewater or milk: enough to make a paste * A few drops of almond oil 3. I restarted my career when Aish was just 5 months old, so it’s become my tradition to invest in gold every Diwali from my savings—a reminder of growth, prosperity, and abundance. 4. And lastly, we light diyas and recite affirmations as a family, focusing on abundance, prosperity, and inner peace. Here are a few of our favorites: * ‘I am surrounded by light, love, and abundance.’ * ‘Prosperity flows into our home, filling our hearts with joy.’ * ‘We welcome peace, positivity, and new beginnings.’ And for all the boy moms out there, you can totally take the footprints of your little ones, I’ve always done it with aish, I did it the first time with him 💫 ✨ What are your special Diwali traditions?
