When you have 2 little ones, the baby’s needs feel urgent. They cry. That’s their only voice. And without realizing it, we choose them. Again. And again. The older one waits. Tips their toes around nap time. Whispers when they want to shout. Holds back when they need you most. Multiple times a day. It’s not their fault. It’s not yours either. But imagine being that child. On high alert. All day. Every day. It takes so much effort to catch yourself. To pause. To see them too. And even then, you’ll mess up. I do. We all do. That’s when repair matters most. Being a mom of 2 for the last 4 months has cracked me open in ways I never expected. I’m learning. I’m trying. And I can’t wait for the rest of this ride. . . . . . . .
