It hasn’t even been a week since the shocking murder of Ketan Agarwal, and now another horrifying family murder has come to light from Bengaluru. Police allege that 24-year-old software engineer Shwetha and her live-in partner, J. Kenneth, murdered her parents, Somasundar and Muthulakshmi, along with her younger sister, Supriya, inside their rented apartment in Seegehalli. According to investigators, the couple allegedly went to the apartment when only Muthulakshmi was present and attacked her first. They are then alleged to have waited inside the flat, after which Supriya returned home and was also attacked. When Somasundar arrived later, he too was allegedly attacked, but despite suffering severe injuries, he managed to run out of the apartment covered in blood to seek help before later dying in hospital. Police believe the murders may have been driven by family opposition to Shwetha’s live-in relationship with Kenneth, along with disputes over her alleged ₹30 lakh debt. Shwetha has been arrested from Puducherry, while Kenneth remains absconding.
