Imagine supporting a murder just because the accused is a woman. This pseudo-feminist Priyanka Deshmukh tweeted that Ketan Agarwal deserved to be murdered and that everyone who chooses an arranged marriage deserves the same fate. By that logic, wasn’t your father in an arranged marriage? Or your grandfather? Did they deserve to be murdered too? She even claimed that Siya Goyal’s father deserved the same. No one deserves to be murdered. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a father, mother, husband, wife, or anyone else. Anyone who glorifies or justifies murder is promoting violence and should be held accountable. She also tweeted that she hopes Siya Goyal gets bail because “she was just a 20-year-old girl who only wanted to study but was forced into marriage.” First of all, how do you know that? Did Siya Goyal tell you personally? Did Chetan Chaudhary tell you? You cannot create your own story to justify a murder. And even if someone wanted to continue their education, murder is never justified. Murder is a crime, regardless of the reason. She then claimed Ketan Agarwal died accidentally, that Siya Goyal was falsely implicated, and that the police changed the case only because of pressure from Ketan Agarwal’s parents. What’s your source for these claims? According to the police investigation, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have been reported as admitting involvement in the case. Yet you’re still making assumptions to defend them. Defending someone who has admitted involvement in a murder case is no different from defending any other violent criminal. I don’t know what kind of mentality this is, but anyone who normalizes or celebrates murder is encouraging violence. People who defend such acts only make criminals believe they did nothing wrong. I genuinely hope nothing like this ever happens to your brother, sister, or any member of your family.
