
Episode 1 of - Dhaba Food At Home Bring the authentic roadside dhaba flavors straight to your kitchen with this easy, aromatic dal tadka recipe! Ingredients: Toor dal – 1/4 cup Chana dal – 1 tbsp Masoor dal – 1 tbsp Green chilli – 1 Salt – to taste Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp Ginger – 1 inch (julienne) Water – 1.5 cups For masala: Ghee – 1 tbsp Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp Red chilli – 1 Ginger – 1/2 tbsp (chopped) Garlic – 1/2 tbsp (chopped) Green chilli – 1-2 (chopped) Onion – 1/2 (chopped) Tomato – 1/2 (chopped) Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp Red chilli powder – 1/4 tsp Coriander powder – 1/4 tsp Garam masala – a pinch Kasuri methi – a pinch Amchur powder – 1/4 tsp Fresh coriander – a small handful Tadka: Ghee – 1/2 tbsp Onion – 1/4 chopped Hing – 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder – 1/4 tsp Method: Wash and soak the dals for 1 hr. Pressure cook with green chilli, salt, turmeric, ginger & water for 4 whistles. For masala, heat ghee, add cumin, red chilli, ginger, garlic, green chilli. Add onions and cook till golden brown. Add tomato & spices and cook till tomatoes become mushy. Add boiled dal, kasuri methi, amchhur powder, coriander. Tadka: heat ghee → in some ghee add - onion, hing, red chilli powder and pour over dal.
