(NAVRATRI SPECIAL)🙏🏽Tasty Makhana Kheer 😍😋with दादी 👵🏻 . . . . Ingredients • 2 cups makhana (fox nuts/lotus seeds) • 1 tbsp ghee • 1 litre full-fat milk • ½ cup khoya/mawa (grated or crumbled) • ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste) • 2 tbsp dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios – chopped) • 6–7 saffron strands (soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk) • ½ tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder ⸻ Method 1. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the makhanas on low flame until golden and crisp. 2. Let them cool a little, then crush lightly (you can keep some whole for texture). 3. In another heavy-bottomed pan, bring the milk to a boil. 4. Add grated/crumbled khoya and cook until the milk thickens slightly. 5. Stir in the crushed makhanas and cook for 8–10 minutes so they soften and absorb the milk. 6. Add sugar and chopped dry fruits, mix well. 7. Pour in saffron milk (or saffron strands directly). 8. Simmer for a few more minutes until the kheer reaches creamy consistency. 9. Finally, add cardamom powder, stir, and switch off the flame. Serving Serve warm or chilled, garnished with a few extra dry fruits.
