Beerlin - A People's Brewery Arrives in Gurugram There's something quietly reassuring about a restaurant that knows exactly what it wants to be. In an era when every new opening seems determined to reinvent the wheel or chase the latest Instagram trend, Beerlin has opened its doors in Gurugram with a refreshingly straightforward proposition: good beer, honest food, and a space where you can simply be. I visited the newly opened brewery at South Point Mall on Golf Course Road, and what struck me immediately was how comfortable it felt. Not comfortable in the over-designed, try-hard way that some establishments attempt, but genuinely, effortlessly welcoming. The kind of place where you could walk in on a Tuesday afternoon for a quiet pint, or gather with friends on a Friday evening, and feel equally at home. The space itself is rather special. Beerlin has adopted what they call an Openhaus-style layout, a design that manages to feel both intimate and expansive. On one side, the Aravalli hills provide a serene backdrop; on the other, Gurugram's skyline stretches across the horizon. It's a visual contrast that somehow works, perhaps because the brewery doesn't try too hard to draw attention to it. Natural light floods the space during the day, while warm textures and thoughtful layout ensure it transforms gracefully as evening settles in. At the heart of Beerlin, as you'd expect, is the beer. The brewing programme focuses on freshly crafted, in-house beers that prioritize drinkability without sacrificing flavour. Co-founder Sandeep Pundir believes that great craft beer cannot be rushed. Maturation and ingredient quality matter, and it shows in what emerges from their tanks. These aren't beers designed to shock or challenge; they're beers you'd actually want to drink more than one of. The food menu complements this philosophy beautifully. It's comfort-driven without being boring, spanning Indian mains and kebabs, global small plates, pizzas, pastas, Asian bowls, and classic bar favourites. What impressed me was how the menu supports both casual grazing and proper sit-down meals.
