Moving abroad is often glorified online. Everyone sees the travel, the cute cafés, the adventure, and the freedom and it looks perfect. But here’s the reality you don’t always see. At home, I didn’t have to think about chores, meals, or basic logistics. Helpers made life easy. I could focus on work, friends, or just relaxing. Here? Everything is on me. Every task, every decision: from what to cook to where to shop, falls on my shoulders. On top of work stress, deadlines, and daily life, it can feel relentless. There are days when it’s exciting, discovering a new corner of the city, trying a recipe that works, making friends who get you. And there are days when it’s exhausting, overwhelming, and lonely. When you realise that living abroad isn’t just the highlight reel everyone shows on Instagram or TikTok. It’s building a life completely from scratch, making mistakes, figuring things out, and becoming more independent than you ever imagined. This is the part no one talks about. The quiet struggles, the tiny victories, the growth that doesn’t fit in a picture-perfect post. And yet, it’s also what makes it so rewarding. If you’re thinking about moving abroad, remember: it’s not just adventure and aesthetics. It’s real life, messy, challenging, and transformative. living abroad, expat life, moving overseas, living independently, building life from scratch, expat challenges, life abroad reality, cultural adjustment, life in a new country, solo living, expat experiences, moving to the UK, moving to a new city, expat tips, overseas life, adjusting to life abroad, working abroad, managing life abroad, independence abroad, living alone abroad, expat lifestyle, international living, relocating overseas, moving abroad advice, life skills abroad, expat struggles, personal growth abroad, moving abroad guide, starting over abroad, navigating life abroad Indian, United Kingdom, International students, working abroad, living abroad, relatable, life abroad, self love, independent, strong women, Indians in the UK #indiansabroad #indiansinuk #unitedkingdom🇬🇧 #selflove❤️ #nri
