I was speaking my Ayurvedic practitioner yesterday, and she told me about a woman who came to her exhausted with her scalp—constantly oily, no matter what she used. She had tried everything modern, every “solution,” but nothing lasted. The practitioner didn’t even begin with products. She said, “First, I need to look at your pulse.” After a “Nadi analysis session” she explained to me that the woman was living in a constant state of internal pressure—always alert, holding tension—and in Ayurveda, that kind of nervous system imbalance increases Pitta (internal heat) , and the body brings in Kapha (lubricant) to protect, which often shows up as excess oil on the scalp. What stayed with me is how simply she treated her. No harsh stripping, no complicated routine. She used traditional practices—gentle herbal cleansing with nimba + rose water and therapies like shirodhara, lymph drainage and acupressure, Nothing too aggressive, nothing too trendy. And slowly, the scalp settled. The oil reduced, but more than that, the woman herself felt different I couldn’t stop thinking about it after. How something so rooted, so simple, actually worked—while we keep reaching for bottled solutions, mixing water with chemicals, hoping it will fix what is actually coming from within.
