The prefrontal cortex — responsible for decision-making, focus, and rational thinking — starts functioning at minimal capacity. Instead, your brain shifts control to survival circuits like the amygdala. That means: • Less critical thinking • Poor memory recall • More impulsive decisions • Difficulty concentrating So it is not that you are “dumb.” Your brain is prioritising survival over intelligence. When the nervous system is regulated, the prefrontal cortex comes back online. You think clearer. You respond instead of react. You make better decisions. Calm is cognitive power :)
