Every year, I come to the Himalayan Writing Retreat to work with a fresh batch of young writers. And every year, I leave with the same realization that writing is rarely just about writing. It's about the shy child who finally finds the courage to share their story. The friendships that form over meals and games. The conversations that begin with books and end with life. The laughter that spills out of sessions and echoes through the mountains. This year's batch brought incredible energy, imagination, curiosity, and just the right amount of delightful chaos. They wrote beautiful stories, asked thoughtful questions, made memories, and reminded me why I keep coming back. The mountains remain the same. The people never do.
