Anupama's Post

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of being invited as the Guest of Honour at The Shriram Universal School @theshriramuniversal , Hyderabad, for the culmination of their Grade IV Writer’s Workshop. The highlight of the morning was the release of the books written by the young students themselves (by hand, btw!) and it was truly a moment filled with excitement and pride for all of us. At that age, children observe the world with a kind of honesty and curiosity that many adults slowly lose. When that curiosity is nurtured through writing, it becomes a powerful tool, not just for storytelling, but for thinking, reflecting, and expressing oneself. In my interaction with the students and parents, we spoke about the writing journey ahead and how great writing begins with small habits: reading widely, noticing the world closely, maintaining a small idea journal, and building vocabulary through curiosity about words in a play way. My appreciation and gratitude to Vice Principal Nirupama Katikaneni, Aarti Gupta and the wonderful school team for creating such meaningful opportunities that encourage young minds to think creatively and express themselves. And to the young authors — May this book be the first of many stories you write in your lifetime.
