12 kids. 8 hours. 12 original short film scripts. Our first-ever Short Film Writing Cohort came to an end today and what an exciting journey it has been! Over 4 sessions, these young creators explored how stories work on screen — thinking visually, building scenes, shaping characters, using beats, tension, dialogue, and meaningful endings to create powerful short film scripts. It was wonderful to see how their ideas evolved from simple concepts into thoughtful, structured narratives, each one unique in voice and imagination. From thrillers and mysteries to emotional and symbolic stories, the cohort truly reflected how creatively children think when given the right tools and direction. The feedback at the end of the program was especially heartening as the children shared how much they enjoyed learning a completely new way of storytelling and how proud they felt seeing their own scripts take shape. We look forward to showcasing all 12 scripts soon as part of our Digital Script Showcase.
