Did you know... Dehradun’s BEST steakhouse that once used to be @firstborncafe is now @otiumcookhousedoon YES! You heard it right. I have been their fan for 4-5 years so when I shifted back to the city in February '25 I kept visiting every two weeks. I started off with their seasonal Mulled Wine, warm and aromatic, with cinnamon and spices cuddling me on a cosy winter night. Perfect antidote to December’s chill. Then came the SHOWSTOPPER: the Red Wine Braised Lamb Shanks: slow-cooked to tender bliss, rich and deeply savoury with a subtle sweetness from the wine reduction. Every bite melted in my mouth, the meat so succulent that you didn’t even need a knife. (My excuse to eat with wet old hands) Complementing the wine were also the Honey Glazed Chicken Wings. So delicious, sweet and just a hint of peri-peri heat, finished with fresh orange slices so you could squeeze a burst of citrusy goodness before divulging it. The result: tender, tangy, slightly smoky wings that danced on your taste buds. Dressed in a navy-blue trench coat that felt JUST right for winter brunches in Dehradun, I looked around and felt… at home. Having lived here for 9+ years, it’s incredible to discover a place that helps you commemorate old flavours and evokes that sense of belonging all over again. Good wine, comforting food, warm ambience and a city you love as much as home. That's Dehradun for me.
