Wrapped up a long workday and bumped on to my BFFs Activa for a quick drive-thru into the hills for and much-needed soul therapy at First Gear Café, Malsi. Tucked away on Mussoorie Road, this cosy gem of a place is apparently the first cafe that I visited in Dehradun when I shifted from Kolkata back in 2016. The glittering Dehradun skyline is something one can vouch for. With the hawa ka jhonka blowdrying my hair and the city lights humming Bejeweled by Taylor Swift, I dug into their piping hot, flavour-packed noodles and spicy chilli paneer. Literally, comfort food atop the hills. The coffee? Just the hug in a mug I needed after a long work day. There’s something magical about watching sunset in the hills while sipping your brew and letting the day melt away.
