The Mercedes-AMG GLC EV is set to become the high-performance electric version of the GLC SUV, expected to debut next year. Built on the standard GLC EV revealed in Munich, the AMG variant will draw heavily on the AMG GT XX for its battery and drivetrain technology. It will feature a three-motor all-wheel-drive setup, with one motor on the front axle and two at the rear, producing a combined output of over 900 hp. This will allow the AMG GLC EV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in under three seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 kph. The SUV will also include a simulated gearshift mode and a V8 engine sound simulator for a sportier driving experience. Unlike the standard GLC EV, which uses prismatic cells, the AMG version will employ new cylindrical cells that offer improved power density and thermal characteristics. Its 800V battery pack features a direct cooling system that circulates coolant around each cell, supported by an advanced thermal management system that enables fast charging up to 400 kW and sustains the high discharge rates required by the triple-motor setup during track use. With these upgrades, the AMG GLC EV is positioned to rival other high-performance electric SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne Electric. #mercedesamgglcev #mercedes
