Can’t say I’ve become wiser in the last 10 years, but definitely grumpier and more cynical. Added a lot of extra kilos, lost some hair, said hello to aches, pains, and retinol but also became far more comfortable in my own body. Met new people, made new friends, and lost touch with some along the way. What I’ve truly gained is the ability to say no to bullshit, stop getting bothered about other people’s opinions, and fall completely in love with myself. And that, my friends, is priceless. In 2016, I attended a number of events and met some truly incredible people. I met Ileana D’Cruz and Amy Jackson at a Pond’s event in Mumbai, along with several fellow beauty bloggers. Went to Jaipur for a rather crazy event having no clue why we were invited but still managed to have an absolute blast. I met the stunning Chitrangada Singh in Kolkata, went on an epic rail journey from Kolkata to Delhi on the Kurkure Express, and had the best time with Rocky and Mayur. I met my makeup idol Mickey Contractor at a MAC event in Kolkata and even made it to a Pond’s print ad in HT Brunch. I was one of the official bloggers for the Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet with Shikha Pooja, Poorna, Anindya & Madhushree, where I listened to Soumitra Chatterjee, Sharmila Tagore, and Tabu speak. I also travelled to Kurseong and Darjeeling with one of my best travel partners, @madhuja_keep_walking, and on a cold evening, listened to Shantanu Moitra perform unplugged in a room at Cochrane Place in Kurseong. 2016, you were a good year. #throwback
