Doodh soda might be trending right now thanks to Dhurandhar but this drink is anything but new. Long before it went viral, doodh soda was a beloved pre-Partition Punjabi classic - cold milk mixed with a lemon-lime soda. It is still extremely popular in Punjab across India and Pakistan and also in old Delhi. The idea of doodh soda inspired Balwant Singh Dhaba and its iconic doodh cola. Introduced in 1971, the drink has been a hit ever since. The recipe evolved with time. Plain soda gave way to Campa Cola, then Coca-Cola, and today Thums Up, chosen for its extra fizz and that unmistakable punch. Trends may come and go, but some flavours have been part of the city’s everyday life for decades. Have you tried doodh cola yet or is this already nostalgia in a glass for you? #DoodhCola #DoodhSoda #DesiDrinks #NostalgiaInAGlass #kolkataclassics
