India may soon get a completely new type of currency. 💵 RBI is reportedly considering polymer banknotes as a replacement for traditional paper notes, with ₹10 and ₹20 denominations expected to be introduced first. Why does this matter? • Polymer notes last much longer • They are harder to tear and damage • Better security features can help reduce counterfeiting • Lower replacement costs can save thousands of crores over time The interesting part is that India tested polymer notes before, but the idea never scaled nationwide. Now, with improved technology and rising currency printing costs, the plan is back in discussion. More than 60 countries already use polymer currency. If implemented, this could become one of the biggest changes to India’s cash system in years. 💰
