🚨 DIGITAL ARREST SCAMS ARE NO LONGER JUST INTERNET STORIES Every day, people are losing lakhs of rupees after receiving fake calls from “police”, “CBI”, or “RBI officials.” The scam usually works through fear: • Fake video calls in uniform • Threats of arrest or legal action • Pressure to stay silent • OTP and bank verification requests And many senior citizens panic and transfer their savings themselves. 📌 But Haryana has now introduced an interesting solution: A Dual OTP System for senior citizens. If a large transaction happens: • One OTP goes to the account holder • Another OTP goes to a trusted family member Without both approvals, the payment cannot be completed. This system is currently being tested in selected bank branches in Haryana. Because the biggest weakness in many scams is not technology. It is fear and emotional pressure. Two things every family should explain clearly to parents and grandparents: • No real “digital arrest” happens over phone calls • OTPs should never be shared with anyone One conversation at home can sometimes prevent a lifetime financial loss.
