Carmens Shaolin Kung Fu Journey: How long have you been at the school? ->I have already been here for 5 weeks. • How long will you stay? ->3 months. • What do you like most about kung fu / martial arts? ->What I like most about kung fu and martial arts is the combination of mental discipline, body control, and constant personal growth. • What is the most valuable lesson you have learned so far in the school? ->Patience. Repeat, repeat, repeat. • What was the biggest challenge when starting? ->The biggest challenge when I started was realizing that in kung fu there are no shortcuts, and that you have to keep returning to and repeating the basics. • What would you tell other girls or boys who want to join but are hesitant to take the first step? ->If you’re thinking about it, just come! Come with doubts or fear, but come. It doesn’t matter your age, your gender, or your previous background. The training is physical, but above all, mental. It’s a challenge that can change your life, like it is doing in my case.
