Biggest bonding tip : Have that one special song that your child can sing to your baby during pregnancy and after birth, babies remember songs that are sing to them in womb :) My 5 year old calls our baby “Shortcake” and talks to my belly every chance she gets. Not because I forced it, but because when children feel included, they naturally want to be part of the story. What I’m seeing work: The families where older children are genuinely excited are actually part of bringing their sibling home. Children who help prepare for baby have way fewer adjustment issues later and Sibling bonds that start during pregnancy are stronger and last longer More ideas that work: -Have them help fold tiny baby clothes (builds so much excitement) -Create a big sibling scrapbook together -Have them draw pictures - we are making some black and white cards for the first weeks :) -Practice gentle belly touches -Let them help pack the hospital bag -Take them to see baby on ultrasound - makes baby feel real to them Watching my daughter light up when she feels Shortcake move? That’s not just cute - that’s bonding happening in real time. Would love to hear suggestions from mamas who are raising more than one child :) . . . . #SiblingBonding #PregnancyTips #EarlyChildhood #PositiveParenting #SiblingPrep #PregnancyHacks #FamilyBonding #ParentingTips #EvidenceBasedParenting #PregnancyJourney #BigSibling
