As a yoga teacher, I see it daily—kids slouched over screens, necks pushed forward, backs rounding, breath becoming shallow. And in yoga, we say “A flexible spine is a flexible mind.” When the spine collapses, so does energy, focus, digestion, even emotional balance. They are over stimulated and directionless. A few simple yogic practices if done daily can make a huge difference. Just 10 minutes of Tadasana (Mountain Pose) to realign, Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) to open the chest and improve breathing, and a few rounds of alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) to calm the nervous system can protect their growing spine. Your child’s posture today is shaping their future health. Let’s not let screens decide it for them.
