Tulsi ki Kheer — Mom of Boys way 🌿 Tulsi ki Kheer — not just a recipe, but a feeling that stays in the kitchen long after the flame is off. We never did rituals around the Tulsi plant at home. But she was always there — like someone quietly watching over us. So today, I didn’t worship her. I cooked with her. A cup of rice, some jaggery, and her healing leaves — stirred slowly into milk until it thickened into memory. Finished with rose petals and almonds — because even the humble deserves to be beautiful. Ingredients: • 1 cup small grain rice, washed and soaked for 30 mins • 1 litre full-fat milk • A handful (8–10) of fresh tulsi leaves • 2–3 tbsp jaggery (adjust to taste) • 2–3 cardamom pods, crushed • Dry rose petals and sliced almonds for garnish ⸻ 🥄 Method: 1. Bring the milk to a gentle boil in a heavy-bottomed pan. 2. Add soaked rice and let it cook on a low flame, stirring occasionally. 3. Once the rice begins to soften, add jaggery and crushed cardamom. Let it simmer gently so the jaggery blends in. 4. When the rice is fully cooked and the kheer has thickened, add torn tulsi leaves. Stir and let it infuse on low heat for 5–7 minutes. 5. Switch off the flame and let it sit. 6.
