First Egg Freezing Consultation 🎀🥚 As a woman, one thing I’ve realised is that in these times often career timelines and biological timelines don’t match. Today I visited CK Birla hospital for my first egg freezing consultation to understand the entire process properly. Things I learned today: • Egg quality gradually declines with age • Risk of genetic abnormalities increases over time • Egg freezing gives women an option to preserve fertility for the future The process explained to me was: → Daily hormone injections for around 2 weeks after periods → Egg retrieval under short general anaesthesia → Day care procedure so can go home same day or next day → Eggs frozen and stored in lab for years → Future IVF whenever/if you decide to plan pregnancy Medically it sounded simple.
