A major leadership change could be coming to India’s economic policymaking. 🇮🇳 According to multiple reports, former RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has emerged as a strong contender to become India’s next Finance Minister as discussions around a possible Union Cabinet reshuffle gain momentum. Current Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is reportedly expected to be moved to the HRD Ministry. Shaktikanta Das brings over 40 years of administrative experience, has helped prepare eight Union Budgets, served as the 25th RBI Governor, and played a key role in India’s economic policy decisions, including demonetisation. The speculation comes after recent high-level meetings involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and President Droupadi Murmu. However, the government and the BJP have not officially confirmed any cabinet changes yet.
